Concrete Resurfacing
Serving Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Greensboro, Fayetteville, Winston-Salem, Wilmington, and more.
Concrete resurfacing can remove dirt, stains, and imperfections in the concrete. Over time concrete wears down, exposing aggregate and making an irregular surface. Concrete will also gather dirt and stain. Resurfacing the concrete gets back down to a clean, uniform surface that is ready to receive resinous coatings.
Resurfacing concrete can give spaces a facelift but it is also necessary when removing a previous coating or preparing to install a new concrete coating. A sealant coat is always a good idea for resurfaced concrete to prevent dirt and dust buildup on the new surface.
Concrete Resurfacing Process
Resurfacing is done by a process called diamond grinding. The grinding pads are made of a metal alloy mixed with diamond dust. Diamond grinding removes the surface of the concrete and gets down to the porous concrete that is ideal for receiving resinous coatings.
After the diamond grinding of the area, it is important to vacuum up all loose dust and debris. There are times when stains permeate deeper than the grinding process can remove. Some deeply embedded materials can be removed by scrubbing with a brush and detergent. Other materials must be sealed into the concrete to prevent reactions with any resinous coatings that will go on top of the concrete.
Where Can Concrete Be Resurfaced?
Anywhere there is concrete, it can be resurfaced. Even when a coating is not going to be applied, concrete resurfacing can restore the look of exterior concrete. Concrete resurfacing is common for
